Scania IT assists the Scania Group with system development, IT operations and infrastructure. Our mission is to provide the global Scania business with innovative and robust IT solutions.

Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from being a traditional truck manufacturer to become a leader of sustainable transport solutions. The digitalization evolution is a key component in this transformation As a result, Scania IT will be an important player in this change process.

As part of this transformation, we adapt our Infrastructure Services to be able to support and deliver infrastructure to different development team. We are now looking for two senior Linux technicians with significant interest in smart infrastructure solutions. In addition to deep knowledge in Linux, it is also a requirement that you have a basic knowledge of networking and storage solutions.

We work according to “agile” principles and are therefore looking for someone who is outgoing and tempted to be involved in influencing the development of a fast growing company.

You will be part of a team that takes overall responsibility for infrastructure deliveries and works in close dialogue with our developer teams.


Your duties
  • Designing infrastructure solutions
  • Troubleshooting and complex incident handling
  • Performance tuning and optimization
  • Sharing knowledge and best practices to our colleagues within development
  • Automating as much of our operational tasks as possible
  • Looking into new technologies and tools that could make us or our customer more productive and agile
  • Working in an hybrid IT environment both on-prem and in the cloud
 
Required qualifications
  • Have worked with critical Linux environments
  • Good knowledge of scripting in Linux
  • Good technical documentation skills
  • Good knowledge of Ansible or similar
  • Deep experience of RedHat Satellite
  • Advantage if you have knowledge of version control systems (GIT)
  • Advantage if you have knowledge of open source communities
  • Advantage if you have knowledge of Oracle database setup
  • Advantage if you have knowledge of RHEV

  • You are social, curious, flexible and open to take in new technique
 
We expect applicants to have a relevant university academic degree, excellent problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in developing in the role as Senior Linux technician. To be successful in this role you will also need to have good communication skills and feel comfortable working closely with our development community. You are a team player, but are also capable of working independently. As the corporate language is English, you need to be proficient in written and spoken English.
